| The Good Sports Accreditation Program is a national initiative of the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF), developed to help sporting clubs enhance their important role in the community. The ADF is working with both community-based and elite sports to promote the responsible management of alcohol in order to:
- Reduce alcohol and other drug problems
- Increase the viability of sporting clubs
- Improve the range and quality of sports options available within the community
The Good Sports program is a partnership between the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF), national, state, regional and local sports bodies, and the government sector to develop a safer and healthier community.
The Good Sports Accreditation Program assists sporting clubs to manage alcohol responsibly. Displaying the Good Sports logo sends an important message to your members and the community. It indicates that your club promotes a responsible attitude towards alcohol and provides a safe environment for players, members, families and supporters.

| Barwon Safe Parties Project - Club Education Workshops | | The Barwon Safe Parties Project is a collaboration between police, local government, local service providers and parent representatives to look for ways to inform and support parents and young people in relation to parties and binge drinking. The 2 year project aims to reduce the harms associated with binge drinking among young people 14 - 24 years living in the City of Greater Geelong and Surf Coast Regions.
As part of this project, Leisure Networks will be delivering interactive workshops with sporting clubs across Geelong and the Surf Coast. The workshops will be aimed at club committee's, members and parents, and will discuss the relationship between sport and alcohol and how we can work towards bringing about positive change and creating healthier environments within grass roots clubs.
The two hour workshops are free of charge. The sessions are not about drying up your club.....just about helping to make your club and your members safer!
