The initiative, titled ‘Target 1000’, is designed to increase the number of accredited individuals coaching and officiating at the grassroots of our sport. In particular, FFV and the Victorian Government are targeting women and residents from regional Victoria with this initiative.

Responsible Service of Alcohol Course
Leisure Networks organises Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) workshops at various venues across the Barwon Region.

The RSA Workshop aims to provide bar staff with the knowledge and awareness necessary to responsibly serve alcohol in licensed premises such as sporting/recreation clubs. The course helps not only club bar staff, but club committee members understand the legal and social requirements of the club liquor license. Having RSA trained people may also help your club adhere to a duty of care which is expected from venues serving alcohol. It will also provide club members with a better understanding of the effects of alcohol and the issues of abuse and misuse that can occur in a club environment.

Workshop Topics Include:
* Problems associated with excessive consumption
* Alcohol and the law
* Whose responsibility is responsible serving of alcohol?
* Facts about alcohol
* Improved atmosphere
* Handling difficult customers

Cost:
- Good Sports Club - $30 including GST
- Non GS Club - $45 including GST

The next series of Responsible Service of Alcohol course are:

WHEN - 6:30-9:00pm, Monday, August 16th, 2010
at the Jan Juc Surf Club, Clubhouse Rd, Jan Juc

WHEN - 6:30-9:00pm, Monday, September 20th, 2010
at Sports House, Geelong.

WHEN - 6:30-9:00pm, Monday, October 18th, 2010
at Apollo Bay.

RSA refresher course online
Those who have previously completed a Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA) workshop can update their knowledge by following the link below and participating in the RSA refresher course online.

Club members manning the bar at sporting venues need only participate in the RSA Workshop once.  It is strongly advised that club members update their knowledge every 3 years by participating in an on line refresher.

Complete the online quiz by following the link below and simply attach the letter of acknowledgment (you will be able to print this on the successful completion of the test) to your original RSA certificate as evidence that you have refreshed your knowledge.
