“connecting families through community participation opportunities”
Leisure Networks & the Department of Health Services in association with various local sporting organisations are holding a fantastic School Holiday Respite Program. The program is designed to give families with children with disabilities the opportunity to take part in a variety of sporting activities as well as allow their families the chance to meet likeminded families & siblings.

| Beach Volleyball, Indoor Soccer, Table Tennis and Basketball are the exciting sports on offer this holiday. All participants also have the opportunity experience massage delivered by students from the Gordon Institute of TAFE and relax with a coffee from Espresso Alfresco.
The program has been running since January 2010with participant numbers averaging around 20 per sports session. The feedback from kids and parents has been extremely positive, Leisure Networks has worked with the parents and sports providers to create an appropriate, caring and fun environment for everyone to enjoy.
Leisure Networks Healthy Communities team leader Anna Brown stated that, “It’s great to witness families playing together, siblings helping each other out and enjoying a range of sports. Parents have told us that they generally have a choice to attend either main stream holiday programs OR a disability program, with Family Freedom Days, we cover both bases and offer something for the whole family.”
The coming holiday program dates are; June 29th, July 2nd, 6th & 8th from 10am – 1pm. For further information about Family Freedom Days, please contact; Anna Brown on Tel: 5224 9925 or Mathew Kelly on Tel: 5224 9923.
